The Marian before it was an official car park, only half of Ardd Fawr built. The toll house is still there (this was later knocked down when the bypass was built). The steps beside the toll house were added in the mid-1950's (and avoided the toll house) Comments from Ken Richards: |

Comments from Ken Richards: Old houses on Cader Road. There are two, one taken early in the century and a second, which was taken either in the late 1940's or the early 1950's. The reason that I know is that I lived across the road and recognize the two ladies in the foreground: Mrs Lewis on the left and Mrs Jenkins on the right. The lady further down the road is likely Mrs Thompson. The houses were demolished in the early 1950's. Mrs Lewis lived elsewhere and was not affected. I have no idea what happened to Mrs Jenkins, and Mrs Thompson eventually moved to Leeds to live with her daughter and son-in-law. |
