This photograph was taken between 1870-1876.

Neuadd Idris is in the picture (and this was built in 1870)
Also, I have seen another photo dated 1875/6 and it shows
Beechwood House, but it had not built when this photo was taken.

The Bridge and Town. Notice that Beechwood Hotel (now Beechwood House) has not been built yet. I think this was originally a Fishmongers (it was in 1888 anyway)

The Hills to the South

Bodlondeb Town Jail
(with full wall)

St. Mary's Church (with the
old black-faced clock).

The Town

Can anyone give me the following information?:

When was this full jail wall knocked down?

When was the black clock face of St. Mary's changed to the white one?

When was the Beechwood Hotel built?

If you know, please email me at ian@dolgellau.com
