Antique hand-coloured engraving of "View on the Grounds of Maddox esq., near Dolgelly" dating from 1790. Anyone know where this bridge is/was? email: ian@dolgellau.com "Maddox is almost certai to be the same Maddox who built the Cob at Porthmadog. Before embarking on this project he owned the Dolmelynllyn Estate in Ganllwyd so I would guess that this bridge would have been somewhere on that land, possibly on the river leading up from the village hall in Ganllwyd". (Thanks to Pauline Sheppard for this answer) |
